Suzanne Goucher, President & CEO of the Maine Association of Broadcasters, joined the Association in 1994 as its part-time Executive Director (and only staffer). During her tenure, MAB has amassed a healthy reserve fund and won several important legislative and regulatory battles.
Prior to joining MAB, she was the News Director at WFAU-AM and WKCG-FM, Augusta.
Suzanne currently serves as co-chair of the Maine Business Association Roundtable and as President of the Maine Freedom of Information Coalition. She is a member of the Maine Right To Know Advisory Committee, a state panel that works on FOI/FOA issues. She also serves on a subcommittee of the FCC’s Communications Security, Reliability, and Interoperability Council. She is a former President of the National Alliance of State Broadcasters Associations (NASBA) and the Maine Society of Association Executives. A nationally recognized expert on the Emergency Alert System, she serves as the chair of NASBA’s EAS Committee and has testified on EAS and the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System in front of two Congressional committees.
Suzanne holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Babson College, Wellesley, Mass., and a Certificate from the Publishing Laboratory at Sarah Lawrence College, Bronxville, New York.
