Radio Station Owner Bob Bittner Dies
Sad news on Friday that Bob Bittner, the independent owner of radio stations in Maine and Massachusetts passed away. Broadcasters knew Bob–and respected his independent style and his
reverence for radio, for music–and for doing things HIS way. Northeast Radio Watch’s Scott Fybush
wrote a terrific tribute to his friend–very much worth reading:

I don’t often do this, but I must say how sad I was to hear of Bobs passing. I love listening to the radio station and will continue to do so as long as they are on the air.
So sorry for the lose of Bob. My husband, and I enjoy the music here on Cape Cod, MA It reminds us of times gone by of our parents and grandparents music. Many of our friends and family listen daily to the soothing music. We send our condolences to his wife and family. We now know the address to mail our donation to support Bob’s dream. I was heartbroken to learn of bobs passing. He brought such a refreshing change to the “typical” radio music one hears. I pray that his music/ legacy lives on so we can continue to enjoy the richness of his music and memories.
My deep condolences to all his loved ones. He truly was a huge gift … thank you Bob!
