Duties & Responsibilities:

Do you consider yourself a storyteller? A sports junkie who loves to get out in the field and talk to people? Then ABC 7 and Fox 22 in Bangor, Maine wants to hear from you.
WVII/WFVX has an immediate opening for a sports reporter, who will become a valuable part of our news operation. The reporter will be responsible for gathering stories each day, and airing them in an impactful, engaging manner.
We are looking for not just a reporter, but person who is driven to go beyond what meets the eye and tell stories that matter to people in a community that loves local sports. You will help gather highlights and produce shows we do during basketball and football seasons. You may also be expected to work weekends/holidays/extra hours as necessary.

Requirements & Skills:

A thorough understanding of the importance of digital journalism is essential for this job. You must also be a proficient writer for both broadcast and web, and will be expected to be highly engaged in social media (Twitter, Facebook, Facebook Live, etc.). You must also be comfortable serving as a “one-man-band,” shooting, producing and editing your own material. The ability to work under pressure in a team setting is also important.
