ABOUT STATION:

WABI TV5 first signed on in January 1953, becoming Maine’s first television station. It has long been the news leader for eastern and central Maine. The station’s located at 35 Hildreth Street in Bangor and has a bureau in Waterville, Maine.

JOB SUMMARY:

WABI TV is looking for a self-motivated, trainable, individual to help our sales team grow revenue! Media Executives (ME’s) at Gray Media Bangor, Maine WABI work in a fast-paced environment where connection with new partners is of the utmost importance. ME’s meet with local business leaders to solve their marketing problems through the use of Eastern and Central Maine’s most-watched television stations and a suite of premium digital advertising options. Successful MEs are positively energized professionals who have meaningful business conversations with Maine’s most influential marketers and business leaders.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Be a NEW BUSINESS Champion – Use creativity and connection to develop relationships with local business managers • Build winning campaign ideas specific to each advertising partner • Author business agreements and negotiate terms with local business leaders • Seek out and win the business of new advertisers through successful marketing of self and WABI’s News brand • Execute marketing plans through interdepartmental coordination of video production, broadcast television, and use of the latest digital marketing products and trends!
  • Use research and current events to uncover new opportunities for your advertising partners • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to generate new business leads and cultivate business relationships • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Gray Media and WABI will train. High energy and a social personality are required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related degree is preferred but not required.
  • Microsoft Office experience is required.
  • Ability to get along with others and maintain positive interdepartmental relationships.
  • Negotiation skills are required.
  • Valid Maine driver’s license required; must be insurable.
